Cancerian Moon Magick ~ 10-12 April 2019

The Moon moves into Cancer and the 8th House of death, rebirth, and transformation at 8:32 PM PDT on 10 April 2019 remaining there until Void of Course begins at 4:32 PM PDT on the 12th. Thoughts may center on metaphysical issues for the next lunar period with an emphasis on the energetic aspects of relationships. Empathy may be strong now as is the need for nurturing both self and others. If home beckons, settle in and enjoy the weekend. The chart is below:

• Mode ~ Initiating Cardinal energies continue their strong presence followed by Mutable or unstable influences.
• Element ~ Fire and Water mirror the Cardinal and Mutable influences with will and emotions dominating.

Aspects

With the Moon trine the Ascendant (Orb 1 deg 11′ separating), our emotions may be at the surface for the next few days with empathy and intuition strong. However, with Ceres in Retrograde, we may have difficulty extending compassion and nurturance to others. Although a square with Chiron (Orb 2 deg 58′ applying) suggests we may feel misunderstood by others, a sextile with Uranus (Orb 1 deg 50′ Applying) should assist us in remaining flexible should any difficult emotions arise and to take a step back if interactions with others are challenging. Perhaps take advantage of Jupiter’s inner focus during its own retrograde. We’ll have plenty of time for that since it doesn’t turn direct until 11 August.

Magickal Workings

Although Thursday aligns with Jupiter, the witch will want to use that planetary energy for inner work for the remainder of its time in retrograde. Use it to expand on workings involving the trance state for influencing outcomes. Friday’s workings can take a relationship focus with additional support given Ceres’s own retrograde cycle and its lessening effect upon nurturing self and others. Purification rituals are favored during this time. The 8th Mansion (Annathra) was active on the 10th and through part of the 11th, so for workings performed during the evening on Thursday, the 9th (Atarf) Mansion appears at 7:11 PM PDT. However, caution should be used given its negative influence on harvest and conflict. Algebha, the 10th Mansion comes into effect on Friday at 3:34 PM PDT supporting workings involving love and compassion as well as defeating enemies.

Honestly, if emotions are in flux for the next few days, it might be best to hide out. Ceres stays in retrograde until 17 July 2019 and it may impact how we feel about nurturing self and others. In fact, this might be a good time for reevaluation. Take stock of what works and what doesn’t, letting go of that which no longer serves us. Are we getting in the way of extending or receiving love? With Jupiter’s expansive energies turning inward until 11 August, this is a wonderful time for inner transformation.
