Libra Moon ~ 14-16 May 2019
The Moon moves into balanced Libra and the 2nd House suggesting our emotional security may be derived through ownership or possessions. The Libra influence itself involves a need for balance and the Moon’s effect may prove challenging if an unexpected shopping spree isn’t kept in perspective. Some folks eat; Librans shop. The chart is below.
Chart Information
- Mode – Initiating Cardinal energies continue their dominance followed by more stable and reliable Fixed energies. With Mutable energies in a weakened state, guard against inflexibility.
- Element – Earth energies are prevalent and align well with Fixed energies fostering stability and efficiency. With Air week, avoid indecision.
- Ray – 1st (Will/Power), 3rd (Active Intelligence), 4th (Harmony through Conflict); and 7th (Ceremonial Order and Magic) provide the strongest influences suggesting the energy to create, work in harmony, and organize.
- Sign – Taurus provides the strongest influence aligning well with practical and grounding Earth energies.
- House – 10th House involving public life and career dominates as well as how we parent.
- Quadrant – all in balance
- Retrograde – Ceres, Jupiter, Pallas, Pluto, and Saturn
- Lunar Phase – 1st Quarter, Full on 18 May at 27° Scorpio
Aspects
We have an interesting Yod between Venus, Black Moon Lilith, and the Moon (the focal or fulcrum point). Venus and Black Moon Lilith are sextile (60° apart) with each forming a quincunx (or inconjunction) with the Moon (150° apart). With the Moon as the focal point, we know immediately that the purpose for the Yod involves nurturance. Let’s look at the breakdown of the Yod.
- Venus in Aries (Fire) in sextile with Lilith (Orb 1° 58′); in quincunx with the Moon (Orb 1° 13′)
- Black Moon Lilith in Pisces (Water, secretive behavior) in sextile with Venus; in quincunx with the Moon
- Moon in Libra (Air) in quincunx with both Venus and Lilith
Typically, the Moon would be our focus here, but I think the real outlier is Black Moon Lilith. She has such an underlying effect on who we are and a sextile with Venus asks us to listen to our inner voice when evaluating our relationships. The quincunx with the Moon suggests emotions may be in flux or out of balance leading to emotional volatility. The effect of Black Moon Lilith in Pisces is one of secrecy and we may be inclined to hold our cards close to the vest over the next few days. If something doesn’t feel right in a relationship, then it’s best to listen to that inner voice. There may be a solution to whatever the issue is, but if not, perhaps put the relationship on the back burner until the situation becomes more clear.
It’s also likely Venus in Aries may increase the effect of Lilith in that Aries tends toward assertion if not aggression. So, with Lilith influencing, the effect of Aries on Venus may affect how we relate to others whether sexually or otherwise. We need to strike a balance between give and take, or nurturance and dominance, an egalitarian view that Lilith may have some trouble with.
So, I suppose the essence of this Yod is a lesson for Lilith, the wild woman within and the need to find the balance between our receptive and projective presence. Too much receptivity creates as much of an imbalance as does too much projection. It’s the dance that we do between dark and light aspects of self and in this case, the Yod is pointing toward nurturance.
Magickal Workings
We’ll be dealing with some Mars energy on the 14th and Mercury on the 15th and if working any relationship or communication-oriented magicks, caution over the Mansions should be taken. Both Algafra and Azubene are conflict-oriented and care should be taken to offset their influence. But with the Moon currently in Libra, if a witch needs to perform magicks to bring a situation back into balance, don’t hesitate to work your influence.
On an esoteric or soul level, instead of Libra deriving emotional security from acquiring possessions, we’re ready to derive emotional security from seeking unified relationships with others. Given the Yod, Lilith may view all of this with suspicion, but even she knows the ultimate outcome is worth it. Unity in diversity is critical to the soul’s development and to our ascension into higher densities and dimensions.
