Weekly Rune & Moon ~ 11-17 August 2019

I’ve been wanting to rework my Moon posts into a witchcraft correspondence format as well as return to writing more about runes, so for the next few weeks, I’ll be transitioning some of the Moon information to this new Weekly Rune & Moon series. Since Human Design Gates and Lines lend themselves to daily Moon information as opposed to traditional lunar transits in astrology that span roughly two days, I’ll be moving that information to this series as well to blend I Ching divination with daily runes.

Briefly, Human Design assigns information from the sixty-four hexagrams from the I Ching to planetary positions on a traditional astrological chart to create a chart called a bodygram comprised of Gate and Line information. Each hexagram breaks down into six different lines, each one with a separate interpretation and this is what gives us our lunar and other planetary information. The bodygram breaks down into two sections, Design and Personality, but for the purposes of this series, I’ll be only considering the Personality side of the bodygram because it focuses on life after birth. Design information covers the foundational aspect of self, before life, in a sense, gets in the way.

It’s a work in progress, but I think both runes and the I Ching hexagrams or guas are fundamental enough that they should blend nicely. And given that I use three different divination methods during Somewhat Daily Tarot and Rune, my somewhat daily YouTube video series, it seems like something I would attempt. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at the runes and Moon influences for the coming week.

Sunday ~ 11 August

Raidho values the process over the goal today as we continue our soul journey. Harmony and integration with others are favored as are issues of justice; however, the Moon at Gate 10 Line 4 The Opportunist suggests that maintaining lofty values should take priority when pursuing any opportunities that may arise.

In other words, take the high road and avoid choices that do not align with a higher purpose. An eleven day, the Master Number for illumination aligns well here. And with the Moon also in Capricorn until Tuesday, a disciplined approach is favored.

Monday ~ 12 August

Higher Self is a strong presence today with the appearance of Sowilo, a guardian rune that links Spirit with form. Self-confidence and generosity influence positive interactions with others with healing possible if relationships have been strained.

The Moon at Gate 38 Line 5 Alienation suggests that if self-assertion leaves us feeling isolated or unsupported, we should be able to remain steadfast in our approach until the situation resolves. A three numerology supports manifesting an aligned approach.

Tuesday ~ 13 August

The spiritual warrior within is present on this Mars day with Tiwaz, the rune of legal matters, self-discipline, faith, and sacrifice. Directly following Sowilo in the Elder Futhark, we continue Monday’s influence of Spirit or the Higher Self. Today, we express integrity and are true to our word and the four energy supports manifesting a strong foundation.

With the Moon at Gate 61 Line 6 Appeal our ability to inspire others aligns with our warrior spirit as we express ourselves with clarity and integrity. The Moon moves into Aquarius at 8:36 AM PDT strengthening our need for interaction with like-minded people. This is a day to make a difference and the four numerology suggests that a new foundation is possible.

Wednesday ~ 14 August

Communication flows well today with Laguz making an appearance fostering intuition, clairsentience, and harmony with the energetic vibration of the collective consciousness. Use this time to align with Source Presence, dissolving energetic channels created between self and others and drawing back what remains to the still point of Self. A five numerology promises change and fulfillment.

Interdependence is the message of the Moon at Gate 19 Line 1 cautioning that inspiration and intuition may suffer through too much adherence to group-think.

Thursday ~ 15 August

The Law of Necessity influences today’s experiences with the Moon at Gate 49 Line 1 active describing the need to create support to ensure that efforts continue. A six numerology suggests an awareness of self in others along with shared purpose, aligning well.

Nauthiz, representing the Norn rune of the future, describes the friction within to manifest goals and overcome restrictions. It also can help bind people together in shared purpose, again in alignment with the Law of Necessity. As the Moon travels into Pisces at 8:50 PM PDT, it reinforces feelings of shared purpose.

Friday ~ 16 August

A link between Spirit and ego/personality is created by Eihwaz today, allowing Spirit to inform today’s choices and experiences. A seven numerology today, we balance our shadow side of self with Spirit, observing from the resting point of the present moment bringing the past and future into perspective.

Trust issues may arise as inner/outer balance is sought with Gate 55 Line 2 Distrust in play describing success that is undermined by gossip. Coupled with the Moon in Pisces, emotions may be in flux and clarity may suffer in the process. Remain open and sensitive to the feelings of others.

Saturday – 17 August

We end the week with an eight numerology strengthening our awareness of our shared purpose with others. Thurisaz, as Thor’s Hammer breaks through any obstacles we might experience, controls impulsive behavior, and fosters new beginnings. It suggests that our path is correct with a successful outcome assured.

Gate 63 Line 3 Continuance describes a focus on maintaining one’s lofty values even in the presence of those without the same, refusing to compromise on what’s been achieved. The strength and power of Thurisaz to stand in one’s power and integrity will be of assistance.

Lastly…

Perhaps this week begins in harmony and ends in a greater shared purpose with others, a progressive experience to be sure but it’s clear that whatever the outcome, we maintain our own set of values in the process. Sunday begins with an eleven numerology, the Master Number for illumination, while the remainder of the week results in thirty-three, the Master Number for Cosmic Consciousness, so it really appears that if we allow Spirit to inform our choices and experiences over the next week, our shared experiences with others should be full of harmony and success.
